Wix Website Audit
A hosted site builder means some of what a normal audit flags is genuinely out of your hands. Scanverra separates what you can fix in the Wix Editor from what only Wix controls.
Who controls what, on a Wix site
Every row below is marked by who can actually change it.
Image compression via the Media Manager
Wix EditorRe-upload a lighter file, or let Wix's own image CDN (wixstatic.com) resize and compress what you've already uploaded.
Per-page SEO settings
Wix EditorTitle, meta description, canonical URL, and social preview data live in the Wix SEO panel (or SEO Wiz), page by page.
Custom code via Velo
Wix EditorWix's own code layer for adding JavaScript and backend logic beyond what the visual editor exposes.
Wix Turbo
Wix EditorWix's built-in performance mode - prefetching and optimized asset delivery, toggled on in Dashboard → Settings → Advanced.
Response and security headers
Wix PlatformWix's hosting sets these. There's no config file or server a site owner can reach to add or change them.
The parastorage.com script layer
Wix PlatformA baseline script bundle Wix loads on every site it hosts, independent of anything you build in the Editor.
Underlying CDN and caching behavior
Wix PlatformBeyond what the Dashboard's own settings expose, edge caching and delivery behavior aren't yours to tune.
What we check for Wix
Five checks specific to hosted-builder sites.
Image weight via the Wix CDN
Whether images served from wixstatic.com are sized and compressed for how they're actually displayed, not just uploaded at full resolution.
Per-page SEO field completion
Title, meta description, and social preview data filled in per page rather than left at Wix's defaults.
Duplicate and canonical URLs
Wix can generate more than one reachable URL for the same page. Without a canonical tag set in the SEO panel, that reads as duplicate content.
Velo custom code weight
Custom JavaScript added through Velo can introduce the same render-blocking or bundle-weight issues as any hand-written script, just wrapped inside the Editor.
Baseline script and header posture
The parastorage.com layer and Wix's hosting-level headers are present on every site regardless of what's built in the Editor - useful context for interpreting the rest of the report.
How it works
Three steps from URL to an Editor-fixable breakdown.
Paste your Wix site URL
Any published Wix site, on a wixsite.com subdomain or a connected custom domain, works the same way.
We confirm the Wix fingerprints
The generator meta tag, wixstatic.com and parastorage.com asset domains, and a window.wixBiSession global in the page all confirm the platform before scoring.
Get an Editor vs. platform breakdown
Every finding is framed against what a site owner can actually change in Wix, not what would apply to a self-hosted site.
Frequently asked questions
Can I fix these issues without leaving Wix?
Many of them, yes - image compression, SEO field completion, canonical URLs, Velo code, and Wix Turbo are all editable from inside Wix. Response headers and the platform's own script layer aren't - those are Wix's to control.
Does Scanverra know my site is built on Wix?
Yes - the generator meta tag, the wixstatic.com image CDN domain, the parastorage.com script domain, and a window.wixBiSession global in the rendered page all identify the platform.
What is Velo, and can it fix a flagged issue?
Velo is Wix's built-in code layer for adding custom JavaScript and backend logic beyond the visual editor. It can address some SEO and interactivity findings, but it doesn't reach response headers or CDN caching behavior.
Can I control security headers on a Wix site?
No - hosting-level headers like HSTS and X-Frame-Options are set by Wix's infrastructure, not something a site owner can configure per site.
Does enabling Wix Turbo actually help load times?
It's Wix's own optimization toggle for prefetching and asset delivery, and it's worth turning on. The audit still measures your actual Core Web Vitals rather than assuming the toggle alone resolves everything.
