Shopify Website Audit
Every app you install adds its own script tag to your storefront. Scanverra measures the Core Web Vitals cost of your Liquid theme, your product images, and everything you've bolted on since launch.
What we check for Shopify
Five checks specific to Liquid themes and app-driven storefronts.
theme.liquid script weight
Render-blocking <script> tags loaded directly in the theme - analytics, chat widgets, and reviews plugins that aren't marked async or deferred slow down every page they're on.
App-script bloat
Each installed Shopify app typically injects its own script tag into your storefront theme, not just its admin section. More installed apps generally means more render-blocking JS on every page a customer loads.
Product image weight
Large, uncompressed product images served from cdn.shopify.com are usually the single biggest Largest Contentful Paint cost on collection and product pages.
Third-party pixel scripts
Ad-platform pixels, heatmap tools, and marketing tags add their own network requests and JS execution to every storefront view - often invisible in the theme editor but very visible in Core Web Vitals.
Storefront vitals on commerce-heavy pages
Product and collection pages carry more images and more third-party scripts than a typical marketing page, so LCP and Total Blocking Time frequently look worse there than on the homepage alone.
How it works
Three steps from storefront URL to app-aware fixes.
Paste your storefront URL
Point it at your homepage, or straight at a product or collection page if that's where you suspect the problem is.
We confirm it's a Shopify theme
The x-shopify-stage response header, cdn.shopify.com asset paths, and the Shopify.theme object in the page all confirm the platform before scoring.

Frequently asked questions
Can Scanverra audit my checkout pages?
No. Shopify's checkout is a separate, Shopify-hosted flow outside your theme's control. The audit runs against your storefront pages - home, collection, and product pages - not the checkout itself.
Does it tell me which installed app is slowing down my store?
It doesn't name specific apps. It does flag the render-blocking script weight that app bloat produces on the page, which is usually enough of a starting point to go check your installed-apps list.
Will product image size affect my score?
Yes - image weight is a major factor in Largest Contentful Paint, and it tends to matter most on product and collection pages where several images load at once.
Does the audit check a specific product page, or just my homepage?
Whatever URL you paste. Homepage results don't necessarily represent your product or collection pages, which usually carry more images and third-party scripts - run those separately if that's your actual concern.
Is a slow Shopify store always the theme's fault?
Often it isn't - installed apps and third-party marketing pixels are just as likely a cause as the theme code itself, which is why the audit looks at script weight broadly rather than assuming the theme is to blame.
